DAILY REMINDER: Wake Up And Be Awesome

I think it is safe to say that we all have moments when we feel weary, not a priority, and unappreciated. It's just a part of the human experience. Sometimes I need a daily reminder to start my day off right. Which is to wake up and be awesome. That one statement can be easily applied to so many different areas in my life. It just reminds me to remember what I'm worth and not settle for anything less. To celebrate the things that make me unique and awesome. To appreciate the quirks and kinks that make me unconventional. At the end of the day, all I can do is just be me.

My 8 Faves From the Roland Mouret Resort 2015 Collection

For his Resort 2015 Collection designer Roland Mouret decided to revisit his most popular item the "Galaxy Dress". It was still the same seamed, zipped, geometric, body conscious dress, but this time around it came in a variety of gelato colors. The vibe was more relaxed but streamlined. The best thing about this collection was it's consistent color block theme and Mouret's strength : his attention to the body and how he continues to show us how to pull of such body conscious looks.

Vacation Style - Destination Thailand

I would love to travel to Thailand and luxuriate in a tropical paradise. It is so rich in culture and history. Its culture has been shaped by many influences, including Indian, Lao, Burmese, Cambodian, and Chinese. It would be such a treat to devour their delicious cuisine. Just thinking about all the different flavors, sweet, spicy, sour, bitter, and salty. Thinking about it just makes my mouth water. In certain regions, it can become very hot and humid so I put together an outfit to relax in at a resort or on the beach. Perfect enough to endure the weather and catch a nice tan, but still a little covered up enough to walk around the grounds in. If your feeling a little modest just throw on a t-shirt or cover-up to complete the look.

Live A Fabulous Life With Grace And Style

Prints and color, they seem to be the only things on my mind lately. I have always gravitated towards the two, but this summer they have had a dominant presence in my wardrobe. Maybe it's because they pair so well together. The loudest, the brightest, the boldest, in the end, it makes me love them even more. As long as I can continue to rock them with a modicum of style and grace they will always maintain a space in my closet.

My Faves From the Gucci Resort 2015 Collection

Designer Frida Giannini partnered with artist Kris Knight on a floral print featuring plants for Gucci's Resort 2015 Collection. The feminine print was used consistently throughout the collection. Historically plants tend to represent a woman's ability to seduce and command power over a man, and this collection certainly casts a spell. It was pretty, sophisticated, and charming to say the least.

Travel Destination - Spain

Spain has a vibrant culture that has made it one of the top travel destinations in the world. It has fantastic art, architecture, cuisine, and music. For so long it has been one of the places I would love to travel to and explore. I would love to be sitting back and enjoying some paella or Castillian soup. What are some of your favorite travel destinations?

My Faves From the 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2015 Collection

For his Resort 2015 collection designer Phillip Lim was inspired by a mishmash of seventies-esque motifs, but of course he did it with his usual flair. He paid tribute to the era but with a twist. He referenced the looseness and prints of the era, but with a modern flourish.

My 9 Faves From Escada Resort 2015 Collection

The brand Escada is known for their bold prints, but I also loved some of their solid pieces as well. Some of my favorite offerings from the brand was their evening gowns. I appreciate how they offered things for a woman who prefers a bit more coverage but still wants to be distinctive.

Travel Inspiration - Greece

A big part of Greece's economy is tourism, and right about now I'm wishing I can add to it. My thoughts lately have been dominated by traveling. Of course, it is just wishful thinking, but I would love to be resting on the shores of Santorini. It would be nice to relax in style and enjoy the views of the coast while drinking Ouzo.

Brights Done Right

I just love the month of August! Maybe it is because my birthday is in August, I'm a Leo, and according to the Zodiac, I'm a fire sign. Either way, it is my favorite time of the year. Every time I think about the heat of August my mind conjures up images of bright, bold colors. I just can't resist. So I am giving in to my urge to shine brightly.  I hope you are not too blinded by the glare of my brightness.

My Faves From the Matthew Williamson Resort 2015 Collection

For his Resort 2015 Collection designer Matthew Williamson has returned to his boho roots. He has always had a way with bright colors and prints. His clothes has a certain lightness to them, and this season he did not disappoint. This collection was sweet, innocent, exciting, and effortless.

Cream of the Crop

I love retro inspired style because you get the chance to reinvent the classics with a modern twist. Today's outfit of the day is a riff on that vintage theme. While I was creating this set the images that kept floating through my mind was Sophia Loren and summertime in Capri. I imagined myself floating down old cobbled streets in this chic little number while soaking up the heat looking fabulous.

My 6 Faves From the Tanya Taylor Resort 2015 Collection

Designer Tanya Taylor teamed up with mixed-media artist Kalen Hollomon to juxtapose studio images of her new collection with unexpected backdrops of New York City. The collaboration highlighted the graphic nature of Taylor's first Resort Collection. This collection was a little more modern than her past presentations, but she still maintained her usual feminine edge. For the past couple of seasons I have kept an eye on her creations, and she has become my favorite emerging designer to watch.
