Happy New Year

I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year! Be safe and prosper!

Focus On Me

It all started with this beautiful makeup image of Adriana Lima, and the next thing I know I was styling a whole outfit around it. I just could not resist the vivid color of her lipstick and wanted to find items that would complement it perfectly. Jewel tones are gorgeous to rock this time of year and a dash of black grounds the look and keeps it from looking too sweet. Erdem's Darlina dress presents an exotic twist on perennial florals. I took the dress up a notch by pairing it with Nine West's Ladyfinger pointy toe pumps and a SheInside handbag.

Darling You Are Fabulous - My 9 Favorite New Year's Eve Party Dresses

We are about to usher in a new year, and today I am presenting some of my favorite party dresses that are perfect for this special occasion. The beautiful dress that is featured in today's set is by Chi Chi London. I just discovered this brand this year and I just love their pretty and sophisticated offerings. To top it all off they are reasonably priced as well. I kept this look pretty simple since the dress was embellished with a gorgeous lace I did not want anything to overshadow it. So I paired this lovely frock with a sleek clutch and heels.

Rock A Geometric Print This Winter - A Recurring Theme OOTD

I'm the kind of girl who loves a recurring theme. Especially when it comes to literature, art, design, decorating, and fashion. A consistent pattern can be a great way to bring random items together in a visually pleasing way. Today's fashion set showcases how a recurring theme or pattern can add an extra special touch to your look. The recurring theme that I am using today is centered around geometric shapes and patterns. A geometric print is one way to make your outfit pop this season. Now keep in mind there is more than one way to showcase consistency, especially if you are not a fan of prints. You can rock the same color but with varying tones or try incorporating the same textures and fabrics. There are so many variations to this concept it is easy to tailor the idea so it works best for you and your lifestyle.

Poetry In Petals OOTD

Today I am taking it back to my teenage years growing up in the 1990s. The time of the original Beverly Hills 90210, Nirvana, New Jack Swing and the birth of casual chic. We were the generation that had an anti-conformist approach towards fashion. Which usually meant we were running around in crop tops, t-shirts, jeans, biker jackets, hoodies, and trainers. Sometimes I forget how long ago that time was until recently when all of the popular fashions from my youth started popping up all over the runways again. I realized I am old enough now to start seeing these trends recycled over and over again. Now they say if you are old enough to wear it the first time around you are too old to wear it again, but I do not follow rules that well so I say if you add a modern twist to it go ahead and rock it. Who cares what other people think as long as you feel good about it.

Rugged Rascal - My Favorites From The Belstaff Fall/Winter Collection

One of the things I like most about the designer brand Belstaff is their cool and modern take on the classics. I am usually drawn to their versatile outerwear that I could imagine any rugged rascal wearing while trekking through the city. This season Belstaff drew inspiration from the classic bad boys from the 1950s showcasing luxe aviator jackets, shearling coats, and cuffed leather pants. The collection reminded me of James Dean and Marlon Brando who popularized the greaser style back in the day.

My 8 Favorite Scarves For Fall/Winter

Brrrrrrrr! It is starting to get a bit cold outside and if you have not found the perfect scarf to adorn your neck you are in luck because today's set is dedicated to fixing that problem. The fun thing about scarves is that they are usually reasonably priced so it allows a lot more flexibility in buying a few of them to showcase throughout the season.  Which one is your fave?

Lethal Attraction - Holiday Cocktail Party Outfit

The holidays are upon us and now is the time that we are usually bombarded with invitations for holiday dinners, cocktail parties, and festive soirees. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be sharing all types of holiday styling ideas to help get you through this holiday season. Today's set is the perfect outfit for a formal holiday dinner party. I was inspired by this beautifully mysterious makeup image that I found on Pinterest. I thought it had the perfect balance with the classic red lip paired with the edgier over-exaggerated cat eye. So I used that image to build an outfit around. I found this gorgeous dress by Chi Chi London that captured the vibe of the inspiration image. It had a timeless floral print showcased against a dark backdrop. It is perfectly sexy and demure an unusual but highly appealing combination. I paired this fabulous frock with a pair of dazzling John Hardy earrings, a wonderfully bejeweled clutch from Mercedes Brunelli and sleek heels by Alexander McQue…

Plaid - The interconnecting Path In Fashion

I must admit I have never really been into plaid. I do not own any articles of clothing with the pattern on it. I guess in my mind plaid always reminds me of lumberjacks or farm living, and I am totally a city girl at heart so it never really was appealing to me. That is why I have gotten into the practice of never saying never because I finally found a plaid item that caught my eye. This Alexander McQueen Plaid Dress has a simple shape that is truly flattering. The plaid pattern on the dress is not overwhelming and the colors that were used are perfect for this time of year. I styled the dress with a Topshop belt that highlights the waist, alluring pumps, and a chic bag.

The Rarest Flower Blooms In The Dark

Whenever I see an invitation that has formal attire written on it the first thing that comes to mind is gowns or formal dresses. When I think back to the few fancy gatherings that I have gone to the women who stood out the most to me were the ones who wore pants or a skirt. The reason they caught my eye is because it is much harder to dress up separates. With a dress, you have a ready-made outfit, but it is not so simple when you have to find a top and bottom that fits the requirements of formal wear. So when a woman is able to pull off such a feat I have to give her a round of applause.

A Terrifically Trendy Trench Coat - My 9 Favorite Trench Coats For Fall

A trench coat is a timeless garment that has never gone out of style. It is one item that you can invest in knowing that this classic staple has a chicness that will endure. The trench coat was originally an item of clothing for Army officers in the First World War and it has remained fashionable over the years. Instead of just coming in the traditional fabrics you can now buy them in lace, leather, denim and in a multitude of colors. Now is the perfect time to find one that works for you.
