The Wow Factor

I rarely have a reason to get all dolled up nowadays. Especially since the world has grown more casual over the past few decades, but I still can't help myself from falling in love with a fancy frock. A couple of months ago I was doing some research for a blog post and ran across this stunning cocktail dress by Michael Kors. The gold Ikat print immediately captured my attention, and I loved the cut of the dress which was very flattering. Since I wanted to showcase the dress I made sure to style the look with complementary accessories that would not steal the spotlight from the main attraction.

Collab Alert - Milly For Kohl's

Another designer collaboration with a well-known department store launched a couple of days ago, and this time the collab is Milly for Kohl's. Which is pretty cool because Kohl's was one of those chains I never bought a lot of clothes from. Usually, because I thought the designs they usually offered either seemed more geared towards retirees or tweens. I never felt like they offered much for the modern woman. So I was pleasantly surprised when I perused the Milly DesigNation Collection. I thought the collection was right on point with prints, color, and shapes that are flattering for a variety of women. My favorite piece from the collection was the colorful watercolor romper. I'm a sucker for Ikat and the color palette was right up my alley. I felt this look would be perfect in the latter days of spring when it starts to get warmer and would be a chic look for a fun night out, vacation or a leisurely stroll.

My 12 Favorite Fringe Finds For Spring

Wearing fringe is a flirty way to add a little fun to your outfit. Especially after being wrapped in so many layers this past winter. So I am so ready to swish, sway and shimmy into Spring.

Wild Thing (Denim Style)

Today's outfit of the day was inspired by the image of the girl below with bold blue streaks in her hair. At this point in my life, I'm not daring enough to replicate her hair color, but I admired her moxie. So I decided to capture the spirit of her look by styling an outfit around it. The main takeaways from her look that I wanted to use were stripes, layering, and the many variations of color. It is a fun look with a lot of visual interest.

Classic Rock Retreat

This weekend kicks off one of the biggest music festivals in the United States. The annual Coachella Music Festival features many genres of music including rock, hip-hop, indie, electronic dance music, art installations, and sculptures. It seems as if every blogger known to man is headed down there, so I'm sure your feed will be crowded with many images from the event. Most of them will consist of fashion outfit post and sponsored events, so I wanted to do something off the beaten path. I have declined the invitations to attend the last couple of years mostly because of the timing, and as I get older I no longer look forward to being in swelling crowds. But at the end of the day, I'm still inspired by the creative energy of the artists and today's set is showcasing fun items to incorporate musical influences into your home decor.  It is always fun to rock out at home!

Spring's First Bloom

After a long cold winter, I am ready to flourish. Spring is the perfect time to rejuvenate and grow. It represents a time to refocus on beauty and artistry. To begin anew. To thrive, have renewed vigor and glow with warmth, and there is only one thing in fashion that represents all of that for me, a beautiful rose print. It's time to enjoy spring's first bloom.

Spring is the perfect time to showcase a fabulous floral print. The landscape is blooming and coming alive, and you should too by rocking this lovely print. The best thing about a floral print is that it comes in a variety of styles from ladylike, retro, graphic, to abstract. All you have to do is decide which style best suits your needs and personality.
