Reading Between The Lines

Some of my favorite fashion sets that I have put together are the ones that are inspired by vintage images. I love taking references from the past and creating a new inspired look. Some of my favorite style moments give a nod to the past with a wink to the future. So it should be no surprise especially after that intro that today's set is inspired by a vintage image I found on Pinterest from the 1960's. I loved the cute striped rompers they were rocking so I found this Peter Som striped dress that had a similar shape and feels.
Of course, if you have followed the trends from designers and the blogosphere you are well aware of the fashion world's current obsession with stripes. Even though I tend to believe that stripes will always be a classic they seem to be having a moment the last few seasons. Luckily they are one of my favorite style staples so I really haven't had to update my closet with additional pieces, but I hope this post inspires you to take this classic print and put your own spin on it.

  1. 100% agree with you that stripes are classic and I have been loving them for years now. It's lovely that it's in trend this season though, makes me feel like a fashionista. LOL!

    1. Lol Shireen I'm with you on that one. You can never go wrong with stripes.

  2. I really like these stripes, though I think I would prefer the hemline to be below the knees with this kind of pattern.

    1. It would have to be a very tall girl who could rock this bold patterns and a below the knee hemline. On anyone else it may be overpowering.
