A Room With A View

Image
Oh my goodness, I was immediately filled with wonderment and joy when I laid eyes on this modern home with a very unique view and original design. I was scrolling through Tumblr when I came upon this image and was just totally blown away (unfortunately I could not find any information on the architect/designer). I fell in love with the concept of this irregularly shaped window that had the most enchanting view of this little garden. This is a whole new spin on the concept of having a room with a view. This is the perfect solution for a plot of land that does not have an appealing view and I could see this idea working for different styles of homes just tweak the design to fit the desired aesthetic.
I was so smitten with this room and its features that I was inspired to style a room featuring some of the same design elements. The main design points that I wanted to incorporate into the furnishings and decor were glass, wood, greenery, and warm earth tones. They are the perfect combinat…

Shoespie Has the Perfect Shoes To Rock During The Summer To Fall Transition

Image
Today I am collaborating with Shoespie.com to showcase some of my favorite shoes to rock while we transition from summer to fall.
First, let me tell you a little bit about the company. Shoespie.com is a website with a huge selection of shoes (sandals, heels, boots, booties, and etc.) that they offer at discounted prices. They showcase the latest trends and have hundreds of offerings to choose from and they also ship internationally. What I like most is that you have the option of using your credit card or Paypal for payment so the checkout process is secure and easy. Plus, they offer free shipping for all orders over $79.
I must say when I was perusing their items and trying to figure out what my favorite picks are I was surprised by how many Instagram ready shoes I saw. Trying to figure out what I mean? Basically, their selection is so on trend that I could see a lot of fashionistas instantly sharing their purchases from Shoespie.com to Instagram and other social media platforms becau…

What's In My Closet - My Favorite Vintage Jewelry (Necklace and Bracelet)

Image
Hello lovelies, today I am going to share with you some of my favorite vintage jewelry pieces that I own. As you may already know I love costume jewelry but what I love even more is vintage costume jewelry. For some reason, it always seems as if vintage jewelry has the best stones. Plus it usually has more character and better design, but that is just my opinion.
The two pieces that I am showcasing today are both gold and feature similar cabochon stones in a deep jade color.

Wow! Just looking at the images of my fave jewels is making me want to go back out and buy them all over again, but seriously, they are beautiful pieces and I'm glad I made the investment and decision to collect them.
Because they are vintage I do not get to wear them as much as I want to. I want to ensure that they hold up over time so I only wear them on special occasions.

The crazy thing is one would assume that I bought both items as a set, but surprise, surprise, I did not. These pieces were bought at sepa…

Coral Color Bomb

Image
I am having a love affair with the color coral right now. One of my favorite colors is orange so it makes sense that I would naturally gravitate towards the orangey red hue. I know a lot of people tend to only rock the color during warmer weather but I am a fan of wearing it all year round. Since I already own clothing in this beautiful hue I decided to step out of my box and try a makeup look using the color.

Even though it is not a look I would rock on a daily basis I was pleasantly surprised with the results. The coral color actually brightened up my face and in my opinion, it made me appear younger as well. I would probably wear this look during a fun night out because it is a bit too colorful for my daily routine, but it was a nice change from my usual neutral color palette.

The biggest thing I had to adjust to when executing this look was getting used to a different lipstick color. If you are a long time reader of my blog then you already know that it is hard to pry my wine/burgun…

What's In My Closet: White & Gold Jewelry

Image
As a reader of my blog, you may already know that I adore my accessories, especially jewelry, and today I am showcasing some of my favorite white and gold jewelry pieces that I own.  I am kind of surprised that I actually have this many pieces in the color combination because I do not usually gravitate towards white when it comes to fashion. It is the color that I wear the least, but for some reason, over the years I have managed to amass a small collection of jewelry featuring the hue. I'm pretty sure it's because of the gold element because I do not own any jewelry that is silver and white. I'm drawn to high contrast color combinations so that is part of the appeal when gold and white are paired together. They just seem to play off each other perfectly.

Another cool thing about this color combination is that is perfect for summer and warmer weather. It highlights a summer tan better than any other pairing.

What do you think of the pairing? Do you own any white and gold jewel…

A Few Things I Have Learned Over 37 Years Of Life

Image
With my 38th birthday steadily approaching in the next couple of weeks I have been reflecting on some of the life lessons that I have learned thus far. I'm not usually in such a reflective mood when it pertains to my birthday but for personal reasons, I have been pondering the things and situations that have shaped me and made me who I am. I am always in a constant state of change and my personality and beliefs are always evolving, so I thought it would be a good idea to document what I believe in today so I can have an accurate account of who I am at this moment in time. In no way, shape, or form is my sentiments a guide to life or meant to influence how you view the world. The journey of life that we all must navigate is a very personal one, and there is no shortcuts or hacks that will help you along the way. The only way to get through it successfully is to live by your own terms and to hold on steadfastly to your own belief system. Somehow managing to firmly hold on to what mak…

Art of the Day - L. Cole (My Artwork)

Image
The last time I featured my own personal artwork on my blog was in 2011 when I first started blogging. Over the years I focused more on featuring other artist and artwork that I loved instead of my own personal creations. If you follow me on Instagram my feed is full of my artwork but I realized the other day my current blog readers may have no idea that I am an artist and love to create beautiful works on canvas. So today I am featuring a few of my favorite paintings of mine from over the years. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them!

Denim Remix - A Unique Spin on Jeans ( My 10 Favorite Finds)

Image
The one item of clothing that I can not live without is a great pair of jeans, and lately, designers have been blowing my mind with all of the unique details and embellishments that they have added to their designs. There are so many incarnations at every price point that you will have no problem finding a pair that fits your style. I have really been intrigued with the most outrageous and unusual designs and today's outfit of the day is showing off a cool and edgy pair by Marques Almeida. I liked the lace up detail and wanted to show one way I would style the pair, so, I centered the whole outfit around that theme.
