My 7 Favorite Lucite Finds For Spring

Image
Apparently, I have a fondness for acrylics. As an artist, it is the medium that I use the most, so, it is no surprise that I am drawn to it in other forms, such as acrylic glass aka lucite. Lucite has been used in fashion for decades, it really became popular during the sixties and it has been a constant ever since. What I love most about it is that it is lightweight and very durable (shatter resistant). Totally klutz-proof which is perfect for a woman like me who tends to trip over air and run into things on a constant basis.
Below are a few of my favorite lucite finds for spring.

Modernize Your Home With West Elm (My 12 Favorite Finds For Spring)

Image
One of my favorite stores for modern and contemporary home decor is West Elm. I get so excited when I receive one of their catalogs in the mail and I immediately find a nook to get comfortable in and peruse their latest offerings. Their spring collection had me so inspired that I decided to showcase a few of my favorite finds from this hip brand.

I'm Like A Bird By Nelly Furtado

Image
" You're beautiful, that's for sure  You'll never ever fade  You're lovely but it's not for sure  That I won't ever change  And though my love is rare  Though my love is true
I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away  I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is  ( and baby all I need for you to know is )  I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away  I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is  all I need for you to know is ... " - Nelly Furtado
I love this hit 2001 song by Canadian singer Nelly Furtado. When I first heard this song I was in my early twenties and I thought the lyrics were so beautiful and they touched me deeply. To this day the harmonious melody puts me in such a peaceful mood because I can totally relate to being a free spirit when it comes to love. Even though it makes people uncomfortable, I always knew that I love deeply but would never marry. I have nothing against marriage because it is a …

Fashion Visionary - My Favorite Black and White Check Finds For Spring

Image
Are you a fashion visionary?  Someone who tries to think creatively when it comes to your style? Do you look ahead to future trends or try to predict what is next on the horizon?  If so, today's tricky trend may be something you already have your eye on. I have always loved the graphic effect of black and white. It pops, even more, when it is in a bold print such as a check print. For today's outfit, I pushed the visual boundaries even more by pairing it with a statement bag which perfectly encapsulates today's theme. If you would prefer to rock a tamer version of this trend just pick one piece in this fabulous print and pair it with neutrals in the same color family so it will not be so overwhelming.

I'm In Love With Me

Image
To this day one of my sisters will always tease me about my smile. She claims my ability to achieve a full smile makes me a possible serial killer. Seriously, every time she sees a picture of me she always exclaims there goes that serial killer smile. If you have siblings you know they can be the biggest teasers and haters. Sometimes they can be downright cruel but in this case, I know she is just kidding with me because smiling is not her style. She is more of a pouty beauty so grinning is not her thing like it is mine. In the beginning, it used to bother me whenever she said this and made me wonder what is wrong with society if smiling all of the time makes you look suspect, but over the years I stopped being sensitive about it because at the end of the day I'm good with it. My smile is one of my best traits and I love my well-earned laugh lines. I'm a firm believer that those lines should not be erased because they tell my story and that I have the ability to feel deeply wh…
