My Favorites From The Brunello Cucinelli Fall/Winter Collection

What can I say about Brunello Cucinelli? I most definitely can say I have always loved the brand's designs. They always have had this roguish dapper vibe that I dig. It reminds me of a sexy librarian or professor with a slightly disheveled look. I just find the whole vibe so appealing. Plus, I'm a sucker for high-quality fabrics with a timeless design that you can wear now or pull out of your closet a decade from now and still look good and fashionable.

Artistic Stripes - My Favorite Black And White Skirts For Winter Under $100

By now you all know how obsessed I am with stripes, especially the black and white variety. Today I am showcasing some of my favorite black and white skirts for winter, but to be honest you could rock these beauties all year long and still look good.
For today's outfit of the day I was inspired by this cool illustration I found on Pinterest. Unfortunately, I could not find any information on the artist, medium, or title, so that sucks (if anyone is familiar with the work and has accurate information for attribution feel free to let me know in the comments so I can add it). I started my search for the perfect top that was close enough to match the one in the illustration, and I found the perfect one from Miss Selfridge and at a really good price too. Next up was finding a striped skirt with an artistic flair to go with the vibe I was getting from the artwork. The one I chose was the Galactic knit skirt and I like that it incorporated the stripes with a bold and graphic pattern tha…

My Favorite Plaid Skirts For Winter

Plaid is one of those fabrics that become prominent during this time of year. The pattern can come in so many different iterations to suit any style maven and is suitable for a variety of occasions. So I thought it would be fitting for me to share with you today some of my favorites for the season. I tend to prefer the shorter lengths but I made sure to provide some styles that were cut a bit longer for warmth and comfort.

As you can see above my favorite plaid skirt was from Rag & Bone. I paired it with a cute knit off the shoulder top and to add a bit of visual texture I added some cute slip-on boots from Gamiss. I wanted to add some fun and whimsical elements to the outfit and the Karle Lagerfeld postcard bag and festive tassel earrings were just the right accessories to fit the criteria.

My Favorites From The David Koma Fall/Winter Collection

David Koma is well known to fashion insiders but the average fashion lover may not have heard of him even though he has designed fabulous collections in the last few seasons. I never understood why he is not more well known or has not gained worldwide recognition but I'm positive this will change soon. He always designs chic pieces and with his latest fall/winter collection he still delivers on that but with a lot more edgier vibe than his previous collections. Some of his offerings reminded me of pictures I saw growing up of the gorgeous women who attended the fabulous New York art shows, gallery openings, exclusive clubs, designer parties, and on the arms of rock stars in the late eighties and early nineties.  I loved the leather pieces, the buckles, and strap details.
Who wouldn't love to party in one of these pieces like a rock star? I don't know about you, but I most definitely would!

Office Style - Bold and Ambitious

While I was browsing Jonathan Adler's website I came across the Turner Executive Desk and started to swoon because I knew I had found the inspiration for today's outfit of the day. The desk was sleek, tasteful, bold, and had a commanding presence. I also liked how he decorated the room and used a pop of red to complement the style of the desk. The design was bold and ambitious yet not over the top. It was one of the chicest home offices I have seen in a long time!

Once I found my inspiration I embarked on my quest to find the perfect clothing to fit my criteria. I did not want to be hampered down by price or how affordable something was since this was an inspiration set and the most important rule was to be creative. Some of the key elements that I was looking for were quality black pieces preferably with gold accents or embroidery, an accessory to serve as my pop of red, and to somehow add a textural piece that could capture the essence of the rug. Whew! Not an easy task at…

My Favorites From Cushnie et Ochs Fall/Winter Collection

If you are the kind of woman who loves clothes cut in a simple and sophisticated way with a bit of a sexy edge than Cushnie et Ochs is the brand for you. After almost 10 years on the fashion scene, they have turned out some truly beautiful collections. They have always had a special place in my heart and they are one of the brands I check out each season to see what they are offering. Cushnie et Ochs is one of the only brands that I think make cut-outs look chic on modern silhouettes and not skanky and that is a hard feat to achieve. The collection was polished perfection.
