Velvet and Charming Bows (My 8 Favorite Finds)

" Tis the season for velvet and bows ... fa-la-la-la-la-la-la ... "  At least that is the version of the song playing over and over in my head. If there ever was a wonderful time of the year to wear velvet and bows this it. Both accouterments fit in perfectly with the festive holiday season and jovial mood. Plus any time you add velvet or bows to an outfit it instantly transforms an outfit into something a bit more classier and elegant. Now some of you are looking at me sideways because you may have suffered through one too many holiday family portraits where all of the members of your family were dressed exactly alike and unfortunately most times it involved you being forced to wear velvet or bows, but I swear I will not re-traumatize you. The items I am showcasing today are timeless and chic. This is a cringe-free zone, so relax and enjoy!

My 12 Favorite Hair Bun Hairstyles For Winter

Now that winter is here I have noticed that I have become lazier with regards to my hair. I don't know if it is the cold temperatures, dry air from heaters, or hat hair that is affecting my mood but I am so over trying to style my hair to perfection. Right now I'm craving an easier alternative and a hair bun always does the trick. The best thing about them is they look good on all hair textures with minimal styling, and they are one of the few rare hairstyles that actually look better messier. So today I am showing you twelve of my favorite bun hairstyles for winter.

It is all fun when you rock a bun!

Sultry Appeal

During this festive time of year when I think of getting dressed up for the occasion, I always think of wearing something shimmery, with a little sparkle and it will probably be metallic. Most likely because they automatically put you in the festive spirit, but what if you are not feeling any of that? Well, I have a sultry option that is right on trend and available through my Zindigo shop. The dress I'm featuring today is by designer Jay Godfrey, and will make an excellent investment piece. It is the kind of dress that flatters the curves and highlights your alluring decolletage. To accentuate the neckline I paired it with a beautiful lace choker that has a bit of Victorian Goth appeal and a pair of simple satin heels. The end result is sexy, elegant, and very appealing.

My 6 Faves From The Christian Siriano Fall/Winter 2016 Collection

I have followed fashion designer Christian Siriano since his start on Project Runway several years ago. His career and designs have flourished over the years, and now he is one of fashion's brightest stars. What comes to mind when I think of his designs are bold bright colors, figure flattering designs, and beautifully tailored clothing. One thing I have always admired him for was that he has never shirked his responsibility as a designer to make clothing for all body types not just sample sizes. What woman wouldn't feel sexy in his designs?

My 9 Favorite Cape Dresses For The Holiday Party Season

We are right in the middle of the holiday season and most likely you will be invited to at least one holiday party or event. If you are not interested in recycling the same outfit you wore last year may I suggest trying one of the hottest trends of the year: the cape dress. It is the best of both worlds and achieves an almost impossible trick of being curve hugging and loosely draped at the same time. It is the rare kind of dress you can highlight what you are working with while still being a lady. Plus it comes with a cape and with all of the juggling, cooking, hosting, gifting, and carousing you will be doing this holiday season they might as well call you Wonder Woman. So do her proud and twirl that cape as if your life depended on it.

Kenzo Paneled Crepe Mini Dress

My favorite article of clothing is the dress. Why? I guess the reason I love dresses so much is because they are so easy. You have a ready-made outfit with just one piece. You do not have to mix and match other pieces to make it work. It is a fantastic stand-alone item. My favorite type of dress is the mini. One of my favorite body parts that I like to highlight is my legs so it goes without saying that I have quite a few mini dresses in my closet. They are just so versatile. In the warmer months they pair well with heels, flats or sandals, and during the winter months, they look absolutely fab with tall boots as styled below.
