The Gold Standard

When I first saw this velvet embellished mini skirt from Topshop Unique's Fall 2015 collection I was so in love. The embroidery was so beautiful and well done. The gold, silver and metallic green thread depicting thistles and dandelions looked so lush and gave the skirt a luxurious feel.I teamed this skirt with an Oscar de la Renta merino sweater and Tory Burch black embellished velvet and leather belt. To complete the look I added Rag & Bone suede knee high boots and a Balmain tote bag.

  2. Gold and black aren't really my favorites. I do love each on their own, but together I feel too old when I wear them.
Even in such a pretty styling.

  3. This looks really chic but not sure if I can pull it off, I'm with Anne, I always find myself instantly aged 10 years whenever I wear black and gold together.

    1. Do think it depends on the styling. Usually it is not the colors that is the problem but the particular garment is usually the issue.
