My Favorite Ikat Finds For March
Ikat has always been a pattern that I have been drawn to. I like the energy and vibes that it gives off. It is a pretty pattern that is slightly irregular in shape with frenetic energy. The pattern is achieved through an intricate dying process. It is similar to tie-dying and batik except that the pattern is achieved on the yarn and not the cloth so when the product is finished both sides have the same pattern.
I have always felt that ikat pieces give your look an arty, bohemian, or tribal vibe. It looks equally good on casual pieces and on more formal wear. Over the years I have been on a mission to accumulate the cutest ikat pieces that represent my personality. One of my favorite dresses is in an ikat pattern that I bought from Nordstrom's a few years ago in a tea-length style and I just adore it. Since spring has arrived I have been on the search again and today I am sharing a few of the finds that I have discovered.
