This dress originates from Schiaparelli's iconic 1938 'Circus Collection', a sensational and widely publicized fashion event. Once belonging to Ruth Ford, sister of Surrealist poet Charles Henri Ford, these dresses were a gift from Edward James, the renowned patron of Dali.
