Today I am presenting my last gift guide for the holiday season. This one is my favorite of them all because I am presenting a natural hair gift guide for the naturalista in your life. I have been wearing my hair natural for the last 4 years which means I do not put chemicals in my hair, keep heat styling to the bare minimum, and rarely straighten out my hair to maintain its natural texture. My hair is healthier than it has ever been so I'm a convert for life. Most hair styling products I use are silicone, sulfate, and paraben free. They are also stock full of natural ingredients that nurture and protect your hair and scalp.
The good thing about natural hair products is that they are good for all hair types because they keep synthetic chemicals to a minimum which is healthy for skin and our hair. I have always been afraid of the side effects of all of the chemicals we ingest and use on our bodies. I personally believe all of those chemicals contribute to a host of illnesses and even cancer. Chemical relaxers have been scientifically proven to cause fibroids and reproductive issues and that was one of the main reasons I stopped relaxing my hair even though it takes more time to flat iron my hair when I want to wear it straight I rather do that than cause more harm to my body. I'm not trying to convert anyone to my way of thinking but just sharing part of my personal hair journey. Everyone has to find the path that works best for them, and for me, the natural hair journey is worth it.
