My Faves From The Azzedine Alaia SS 2019 Collection

Azzedine Alaia was one of those rare designers that made clothes that flattered all body types. If you lacked curves his clothes helped to shape your body and create them and if you had a curvy figure his designs would skim and contour the body just right to show off your fabulous shape. 

After his death last year I wondered in what direction his label would go and I am happy to see that his loyal atelier has maintained his vision. They did not veer from what we would expect from the brand which is designing for a woman who celebrates her sexiness with a hint of a dark edge. I also love how the brand never forgets about cinching in a woman's waist by use of fabric or incorporating leather dominatrix inspired belts. 

We have seen this type of style showcased a lot during the last few seasons. What stood out for me this time is that it is made from buttery soft leather.

I like that the flowy dress was tamed by the waist-cinching leather detail around the waist.

I can see this look transitioning easily from summer to fall. I would wear a slip dress under it with some cute booties once the temps start to drop.

My favorite part of this warm weather topper is the intricate laser-cut detailing. It is so chic and eye-catching.

I adored the figure-flattering cut of the dress and the textural element of the fringe. This would be a fun party dress that moves with every step you take.

Love the juxtaposition of feminine elements mixed with harder edge silhouettes. The belt tames the girliness of the abundance of ruffles.
