Q: Where are you from/located?
A: I live in Italy, south Italy exactly, in Calabria, my region, in the ancient Magna Graecia
Q: What website or social media page can my readers follow or purchase your work?
A: https://ilrattobavoso.altervista.org/
https://www.facebook.com/claudio.parentela.1
Q: Who are you influenced or inspired by when it comes to your work?
A: The music I hear ... my beloved books .... fashion, lots of fashion ... comics, laughter, and discussions with my friends .... noises, landscapes ... sea, desolate mountains, my lonely walks
Q: How has your worldview inspired your work?
A: Very much... I live a solitary and very autistic existence and I’m very jealous of my lonely life... I love my studio and all my things, my colors, my cards, the many photos that I keep, my cats, my garden full of flowers. My world is populated by my knots and by a thousand of my colored threads, by my changing moods, by the many beings that populate my heart and my thoughts, in my works, there is all this…
Q: Do you think that art can change the world and in what way if so?
A: Art can change and save the world because art is infinite beauty, it is thought and action that goes beyond any obstacle, it is thought and a quantum leap into other dimensions, and in this dimension. Art is love and pain in action, it is all the love and all the pain in the world that can do everything
Q: What do you most love about art?
A: The infinite freedom
Q: What art style do you generally work in and how would you describe it?
A: My art is anarchic, free, dreamy, obsessive, trendy, delirious, shamanic, linear, crazy, twisted, colorful and in black and white, full of contrasts and without contrasts

Q: When or why did you become interested in art?
A: I like the art of all time and the artists of all time ... I think that every artist has a wonderful and unique gift to offer to the world. I paint and draw, I shot photos, cut and sew and glue and I make this beautiful ' 'work' 'of the artist professionally since 1995 ... It all started by chance or maybe not ... a series of coincidences that made me understand that what I wanted is to be free, free to create every day my work, and the art allows me this and makes me feel free, really free.Artwork by Claudio Parentela |
