Lust Worthy Dress - Mrs Pomeranz Summer Meadow Dress

Image
This dress is so divine. Perfectly grown-up with a beautiful whimsical quality, and a nod to decades gone by. The cut of this dress is flattering on all women no matter the age or body type. The prim and proper quality is balanced with a vibrant look-at-me print of red poppies and vibrant green grass. My mother has always drilled in me the importance of being a proper young lady and in this dress she may get her wish!

Independence Day Outfit #2

Image
It's that time of year we celebrate our nation's independence, and today's set is inspired by the chic- city girl attending a July 4th party on a roof-top deck or a get-together in an urban setting. I love to style this type of casual set because I can incorporate a feminine edge into the look with killer heels. It's a relaxed look with flair. I paired a denim Zara top with Madewell striped sailor shorts. I accessorized the look with an Anthony Peto hat, a red vegan bag from Sole Society, a Lacoste watch, and heels from Guess by Marciano. I wanted to balance the look with minimal makeup, so just a hint of Christian Dior curling mascara and some red Essie nail polish on my toes. Now I'm ready to mingle, kick-back, and enjoy the groove.

Independence Day Outfit #1

Image
Next week we will be celebrating Independence Day on July 4th, and I decided to style a set for this special occasion. I did not want this look to be too obvious by incorporating the standard stars and stripes. So I used the traditional patriotic color scheme of red, white and blue as my inspiration starting point. I spotted this adorable floral dress at Topshop and thought it would be perfect to wear to a picnic or to kick-back and watch the fireworks in. I kept it casual but cute with K. Jaques thong sandals, a red envelope clutch, an Olivia Burton watch and vintage Ray Ban sunglasses. Now all that is left is to sit back and enjoy the show!

Handbag Designer to Watch - My Faves From Poupee Couture

Image
Poupee Couture began as a bit of a parody on how the Eastern woman handles the delicacies of context without compromising her individual needs. That inspiration materialized into bags that have strong geometric forms on the outside but then on a closer look, emit rays of brilliant color from underneath. Color always shines through, either by a material layering or a perforated Arabesque metal. And that has now become the Poupee Couture trademark.

Inspired Outfit Idea - Bright and Retro

Image
I was in the mood to style something bright, cheery, and colorful. An outfit with a nod to mod and kitschy fashions. So when I ran across this image of this beehive hat on a retro hat stand and this bold, punchy fabric swatch from Serena & Lily I knew I had found my inspiration starting points. I kept the look sleek to balance out the bright colors and the bold print. I added orange peep-toe wedges and a color block clutch to compliment the outfit.

Ahoy Matey! Sachin + Babi Goes Nautical - Resort 2014

Image
I can't swim... I'm claustrophobic...and I suffer from motion sickness...but I'm still obsessed with nautical style. It's an enduring and classic style that makes me wish that I could tie a proper knot or sail away off the coast, but I guess I can settle on being land-locked if I could look this chic.

* Rock The Look For Less $$$ *
Even though runway collections offers us creative and new ways to interpret a style, most designer offerings are out of our reach and not too wallet-friendly. So of course, I had to show you how I would rock nautical style for less. I'm a big believer of mixing high and low pieces. I tend to spend more on accessories because I can incorporate them into a variety of looks and you can still rock them for decades. Clothing is a different story, gone are the days where cheap meant shoddy quality or unfashionable options. So I spend a lot less on clothing than I do on accessories. In this set I wanted to balance the casual aspect of nautical st…

Outfit of the Day - She's So Foxy

Image
It's summer and I'm in a casual state of mind. As you know from following my blog I am usually a dress kind of girl. But lately, I have been really digging the classic combo of a t-shirt and shorts. In fashion, you can not get more laid back than that. To make the look my own I always like to add one quirky or unexpected element, and this painting by self-taught artist Charmaine Olivia was the inspiration piece that led me to this cute and distinctive fox t-shirt. I paired it with a bold geometric print short from Maison Scotch and sandals from Modcloth. The bright blue shoulder bag was the perfect finishing touch to tie it all together. The final look is cute, casual, and charming. Who could ask for more?
