Giorgio Armani Showcases Classics With A Twist With His SS/2018 Collection
Giorgio Armani is one of those designers and brands that are well known all across the world. He is most famous for his classic designs with a nod to the past. Any man who buys one of his suits knows how good of an investment it is. He designs the kind of suits that you can pull out of your closet year after year and look good and presentable. His clothes never look dated. That type of aesthetic can be good and bad. Good for the reasons stated above and bad because from a fashion standpoint it can become a bit repetitive and boring. Since he doesn't focus on trends as much there is nothing new to look at, so I usually do not highlight a lot of his collections on my blog because it would look like I am showcasing the same collection year after year, but this year he stepped out of his comfort zone and added a bit of color to his collection which he hardly ever does which is more on trend with what is going on currently in men's fashion.
SHADES OF GREY AND SILVER METALLIC
Giorgio Armani has never shied away from using neutrals or silver metallic. They are a constant in his collections. I do feel like in this collection that some of his metallic suit pieces were some of his best offerings and the way they were styled were right on point.
BLUES AND JEWEL TONES
A nice surprise in this collection was his use of jewel tones. Some of my favorite pieces were the jewel tone shirt/vest/pants combo. They looked great and the color was not too bold in my opinion. I know I am not a man but I would love to see a guy in one of these looks and would be impressed with his confidence and style savvy.
LOOSER FIT AND CUT
I am so over the skinny suit trend for men especially since most men usually have a more athletic build and skinny suits are not the right cut for their body types because it pulls at the wrong places and can make your clothes appear as if they are shrunken. A looser cut is more flattering on different body types and is a refreshing change during the summer. When it is hot outside it is more comfortable if you have to wear pieces that are breathable and not sticking to your body because it is too tight.
Overall this collection was quintessential Armani but with a few pleasant surprises. Out of the 90 looks he showed this season I liked a majority of them. Today's post just showcased the highlights. What looks were your faves from this collection? Would you rock jewel-tone suit separates or date a man who does? Let me know what you think below in the comments section.
