Color Inspiration: Marigold (Yellow-Orange)
The color marigold has always fascinated me. It is a combination of my favorite colors: yellow and orange. It is a bright but deeply rich hue. In a lot of cultures the color is closely linked to the power of the sun, it is probably why I'm so drawn to it because my zodiac sign (Leo) is the sign of strength and the sun in astrology.
The one place I tend to notice the color marigold the most is out in nature. In the warmer months you see it in bees, flowers, and pollen. In fall, you will see it pop up in the full spectrum of colors when the leaves start to fall from the trees and covers the land. It is really beautiful. The color inspired one of my favorite paintings which is featured in today's post, "Spring Awakening - Marigold March". In my painting I made sure to use the color in every area and fantastical plant I created. I wanted to showcase how marigold works well with so many different contrasting colors.
