Iconic Inspiration - Elizabeth Hurley's Versace Safety Pin Dress
I remember the day vividly when Elizabeth Hurley made her presence known in a very bold way. She was accompanying her then-boyfriend, Hugh Grant, to the premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral. She shocked and stunned in a black Versace dress. The dress was held together by several oversized gold safety pins. The dress was wide open in the front with a deep plunge and has two cut-away parts on both sides that were held together with six gold safety pins on each side. According to the late Gianni Versace, the dress was inspired by the neo-punk movement. Some would say it was one of Versace's best-known creations.
Even if I had a killer body to rock such an iconic look it I would have to take out a loan to buy such a creation. Since that will not be happening I found a more affordable version of the dress. It's designed by Versus by Versace, and it's a lot cheaper and not as risque as the original design.
