Pattern Mixing - Ted Baker Culottes
I am all for pattern mixing as long as the scales of the prints complement each other well. For me, there are no particular rules that I follow when mixing prints. I do tend to not mix the same type of prints together, for example, a floral print paired with another floral print. I like to give the eye a break and keep the patterns flowing nicely and when you use the same type of patterns or prints it can be too much of a good thing. Overall I think the key to achieving a mixed print outfit that is pleasing to the eye is making sure that all of the prints are in the same color family that way you do not end up looking like a fashion mishap.

For today's outfit of the day, I am featuring a pair of Ted Baker culottes with an amazing print. Since the culottes feature a large scale floral print I decided to temper its sweetness with a striped pattern shirt. I added a raffia fringe bag, cat-eye sunglasses and Dorsay flats for an easy and chic ensemble that would be perfect for work, the weekend or on an exotic vacation.
Culottes are a big trend this summer and the right fit is key. So you may have to try on a few pairs before you find the right ones for you. Luckily so many designers have featured them in their collections that a wide range of options at different price points is available to choose from.
If you are loving the culottes trend this summer here are a few more options!
